Getting a decent 6l80E/6l90E for less than a grand is a pretty good deal, in line with the prices around here if not slightly lower. I'm going 6l80E on my own build, I really like the 4:1 low gear and double overdrive so it'll make imperfect gearing in the axles less obvious.

Box tube: Heavy, strong, easy, bulky. Hard if not impossible to bend. Easy to make square and straight. Stock frame: Weaker than box tube, lighter than box tube, already bent close to what you need, but pretty much impossible to reconfigure if it isn't what you want, other than whack-n-weld, and then you're hosing the squareness advantage.
Agreed. Let's say (1), the Pirates of the Rubicon (POR) started out as a bunch of friends that partied hard and wheeled. (Some/many of the original guys are no longer in the club or even wheel anymore) Eventually the wheeling became just as much (crazy) as did the partying.
The Quarry Trailhead starts at the parking lot off of South Bay Blvd. It starts out uphill, but provides an instant panoramic view of Los Osos to Morro Bay. The trail continues straight back to the end of the property line at exactly 1 mile. The end of the trail looks out to a beautiful valley and Hwy 1. The majority of the trail is flat and easy with level footing.
I was lucky enough to have this gantry donated by a friend. The I-beam is 6" deep, measured about 3 5/16" wide. It's 12' long. There are 4 heavy-duty 1000 lb steel 6" swivel casters, allowing it to be easily maneuvered around the garage.
